Laser Geomatics, working with various Departments of Transportation, has developed a safe,
practical and cost-effective solution for acquiring bridge clearance information using our
high definition survey, terrestrial LIDAR laser scanning.
By using this technology and acquiring data remotely, no survey personnel are required
to perform the dangerous and difficult steps needed to acquire clearance information in
traffic, and no lane closures are required, thus reducing the impact to the traveling public.
Once the data is acquired, our automated process of creating existing vertical and
horizontal clearance information with visual reference provides our clients with
data never before available. Whether it be PONTIS or NBIS database population,
hardcopy visual reference for existing bridge files, or GIS database population,
all are done automatically to reduce or eliminate the associated data entry errors.
