Laser Geomatics teamed with the Flagstaff office of SWCA
Environmental Consultants to scan and record the Archaeological
Recovery Site In Hildale, Utah. The recovery site, soon to be a series
of wastewater effluent ponds, had three separate areas where data
was collected.
The scanning portion of this project took approximately 14 hours over
two days and included 21 scans. SWCA provided the traditional
survey required to register the scan data in real world coordinates.
Once back in the office, the scans were post-processed and the
following deliverables were created:
- Meshes compatible with ESRI ARCinfo and
3-D Analyst
- 0.1-meter contour interval topographic map of
each site in AutoCAD
- 2-D Plan and Section information in AutoCAD
