Laser Geomatics provided the University of New Mexico (UNM)
first-time as-built information for an existing electrical substation. The
Facilities Engineering Group felt this information could be critical for
future upgrades to the substation.
The scanning portion of this project took approximately 7 hours and
included 8 scans. Bohannan Huston, Inc. provided the traditional
surveying required to allow UNM to position this substation
seamlessly into existing mapping. Once back in the office, the scans
were post-processed and the following deliverables were created:
- a full 3-D model of the electrical substation in AutoCAD
- 2-D plan and section information in AutoCAD
